We meet with women every day who are facing surgery for breast cancer.  We are very compassionate with your needs and concerns and can an swer most of your questions about what to expect after surgery.  We will make sure you have the right garments to make your recovery as comfortable and confident as possible.

Most women go home from the hospital with at least one drain and sometimes two, inserted in the operative area during surgery.  These drains may stay in place for 2-3 weeks.  Our camisoles or Carrier Bra are ideal for providing some light compression and carry the drain and drain tubing.  These soft garments are comfortable over incision sites and surgical dressings. 

The Carrier Bra by Jodee has a zipper front for easy access, velcro straps for easy adjustment and removable velcro drain pouches.  Once the drains are out the pouches are removed and the bra is worn during the remaining recovery period and beyond!

We have in stock two brands of Camisoles.  One was developed by a local Richmond lady, Kim Newlin, who had breast cancer and had difficulty with products available to her.  She created the "Look Better Than You Feel"  camisole.  This garment comes in three colors; white, black and a beige/black stripe pattern.  It has elastic straps, a soft underlining, is reversable; V-neck or cowel neck, and is cut on the bias of fabric which means it stretches.  This garment can be stepped into and pulled up so you do not have to raise your arms to get it on.  Better yet! The garment can be lowered off the shoulder for Physician examination or worn during radiation treatments without having to undress! 

The  Post-Surgery Camisole by Amoena is a very soft garment that fits close to your body.  It gives support to the non-surgical breast, has a pocket for a soft fiber-filled breast form and a pocket on each side to accomodate the drain and tubing. 

We feel it is very important to meet with us prior to surgery.  We can talk about your needs and concerns, show you a variety of products that you can try on, finding the garment that is right for you.  We have a Jackson-Pratt drain, so you can see exactly what it looks and feels like.  We believe education and preparation is important!  When you arrive at the hospital you are equipped with the garments you have chosen for after surgery and are prepared to manage the drains with comfort and ease.

Once your surgical site has healed, you are ready for a second fitting for bras and silicone or foam prosthesis.

We have a good selection of fashionable bras to accommodate all surgery and body types.  Our bras are made of top quality fabrics with cotton or CoolMax lined contour pockets.  The straps are positioned in and away from your shoulders to help prevent straps from sliding off.  Bras open in the front or back and some styles open in both back and front.  Some bras styles have wide shoulder straps with built in cushions for added comfort.  Jodee has a patented underarm pocket for balanced-fit pads to give that extra support needed in the operative area under the arm.

The Extra-Value Bra is a great fit for most body styles, superior fabrics and excellent sewing make this bra an outstanding value.  The cups are lightly fiberfilled for good shaping and the bra-cup has a cotton pocket to hold the breast form securely in place.  The Style # 2575 comes in Ivory, White and Black and sizes 32-42 AA, 32-46 A,B,C,  34-46 D,  36-46 DD  and Style # 2585  32-42 AA, 32-46 A,B,C, 34-46 D, 36-46 DD.

The Camisole Bra has scalloped lace that covers the upper cups and continues for a camisole effect.  The cups are lightly fiberfilled and each bra-cup has a cotton/spandex pocket to hold the breast form securely in place.  This Style #2501 comes in Ivory

 

The Choices Plus Bra is a smooth longline control bra.  Front hook plus back-hook adjustments for that perfect supporting fit.  The cups are lightly fiberfilled with cotton/spandex bra-cups to securely hold breast forms.  this Style # 1805 comes in White and Beige and is in sizes 34-46 A, 34-48 B,C and 34-48 D.

 

The Celebration Plus Bra has a "snuggle" band that prevents the bra from riding up.  Available in back-hook only.  Each bra-cup has a cotton/spandex pocket to hold the breast form securely in place, lightly fiberfilled cups.  This bra comes in White Style # 2105 and Beige- Style     # 2115 in sizes 34-42 AA, 34-46 A,B,C and 34-48 D, DD. 

The Unique Bra provides longline control, has the cotton/spandex pocket to hold the breast form securely in place and has lightly fiberfilled cups.  This bra features back-only hooks for great support.  Style 1105 in White and 1115 in Beige.  The sizes range from 32-44 A, 34-46 B, 36-48 C, 36-48 D. 

The Cool Cotton Bra has Cool-Max polyester pockets to hold the breast form.  The Cool-Max draws moisture away from the body.  This bra is 85% cotton/plus spandex/polyester for added coolness for an active life....or just to be comfortable.  This bra comes in Gray  Style #506  sizes A/B & C/D   34-44 .

The Patented Perma-Form Bras are a lightweight form of polyurethane foam which is sewm permanently into each bra.  The form has small metal cores which help restore body balance, yet leave the form 60% lighter than silicone.  The form is lighter-less than half the weight of silicone.  The form is cooler...more comfortable on hot, humid days.  The bra is easier to wear...just put it on...no prosthesis to fit into the pockets...they are built right in!  All perma-form bras are custom made.  Please allow 15 days extra for delivery.  These perma-form bras come in 10 different styles.  Call today for a catalog.

Cool 'n Lite Breast Forms

A triangular form best for modified radical surgery.  Cool 'n Lite is just that-cool and light.  It is 25% lighter than other comparable sized silicone forms.  This reduces discomfort due to the weight of the form.  Its curved-in back, combined with lighter weight, gives the wearer an appreciably cooler feel for all day comfort.  Velvety soft, skin-like, 100% silicone.  Can be worn on ight or left side.  Style # 42.  (has same bulletted features as stated above)
